The Elephant Nature Park was established in the 1990’s to provide a sanctuary and rescue for elephants. The park has provided a sanctuary for dozens of distressed elephants all over Thailand. The park is located 60km from the city of Chiang Mai in the North of Thailand.
The Elephant Nature Park does not only rescue elephants but also provides sanctuary for the other species that need help, such as buffaloes, dogs, cats and many more animals.
One of their missions is Cultural Preservation to maintain the cultural integrity of the local communities and Rain Forest Restoration where they plant 25 acres every year to restore the rain forests
One thing that differentiates the Elephant Nature Park from other elephant attractions in Thailand is that it is a sanctuary dedicated to the care and well being of elephants. You will not be able to ride the elephants or see them perform circus tricks. The elephants are allowed to be in their natural environment and tourists are privileged to see these rescued elephants interacting with each other in a natural setting. Animal lovers will be very happy about this zero harm policy towards elephants.
