The Origin of my Travel Experiences
As I grew up one of my biggest dreams was to become an adventurer, traveling the world. My passion for languages, diplomacy and travel has let me fulfill that dream. However, it has not all been easy, I have had to work hard and study hard to become a professional traveler.
My first trip to a foreign country was in 2004. In Haiti, my home country, my parents supported and encouraged me to start with advanced studies. This meant traveling to the Dominican Republic to pursue a higher education. As a newcomer to that country, I never found it to be too much of a challenge to settle because I already had a command of the language. Since I knew the Spanish language, what was left was to learn the day-to-day culture. My second trip was to Mexico, this time, not to study but as a traveler. My third was to Bali, Indonesia, to work as a Travel counselor. It was here that I began my career in the travel service industry, a career that would allow me to travel the world.
After Bali I started working on Celebrity cruises. This is one of my most memorable jobs as it gave me many great experiences and opportunities while working aboard a cruise ship. While working there I was given a chance to explore the world. During my time serving aboard a cruise ship, I had the opportunity to visit more than 70 countries on all 5 continents. The primary goal was to travel because it was free; all expenses were covered by the cruise ship as a crew member.
A new idea came to me when I resigned from the cruise ship. This idea was to travel to Canada and to study Tourism and Travel services management at Algonquin college in Ottawa, Canada, in 2018.
After working for nine years in the hotel industry in different countries for example, The Dominican Republic, Bali as well as on cruise ships, I decided to resign and come to Canada to study Tourism and Travel Services Management to gain additional skills to become more competent and help others become successful in their travel journey. After spending four years without traveling, I wanted to share my adventures with others to motivate and coach them on their own travel journeys. I have met and maintained contact with reliable travel professionals worldwide that can help to make your travel more successful.
I graduated from Tourism and Travel services management in Ottawa, the capital of Canada. The credentials I gained allow me to apply the education that I received during my years of study and put them to use in the service of others. I want to help make your journey as pleasant as possible.
Before coming to Canada, I already had many years of experience in the field. However, the education that I received here helped me to become more qualified in tourism management, and it especially has allowed me to develop more leadership skills, management, travel counseling, and ultimately it also allowed me to be a better English writer because my first language is not English.
Tourism & Travel Services
After graduating from the Tourism & Travel services management program at Algonquin college Canada. I came up with the idea to create this blog. This blog contains information in the hope I can share all my travel experiences.
A Healthcare Professional Service
It is highly recommended to visit a healthcare professional in your country. Find out if there is any unique vaccine required by the destination that you will be traveling to. It will help you to avoid any issues with the immigration inspection at the airport. If you suffer from any disease, you must travel with some medications. Make sure you contact your physician before traveling. So that you can have a prescription from your physician. As some countries in Asia will do strict inspections with the pills upon arrival. If you cannot provide a physician’s letter as evidence the immigration officers may ask you many questions and possibly confiscate your medication or worse.
Travel Advice and Advisories by Destination
It is highly recommended to do a checkup with a healthcare professional before travel. It is also advisable to check with a travel agency or booking website so that you know what to expect upon arrival in the destination country. In addition, some travel apps, such as Culture Trip and hopper, provide basic information such as hotels, hospitals, tours, tips, pictures, videos, and reliable contacts at the destination to help you navigate better, especially when traveling alone. You can download these apps for helpful insight as well!
My Own Emergency Health Experience in Asia
When I went to Bali as a travel advisor, my colleagues and I had all-inclusive travel insurance. Fortunately, we had no medical emergency, but it was available as a backup plan; that is why I recommend you purchase ALL inclusive medical insurance in case of an emergency; you will be covered by medical assistance at the destination.
Airline Tips & Tricks
Before traveling to your destination, it is essential to know about the baggage allowance on your plane to avoid losing essential belongings. Similarly, while at your destination, it is necessary to know things you cannot bring onboard the plane – different airlines have different policies, so it is wise to check their website to find out or call them in advance to investigate, before buying your souvenirs or local products to bring home.

Translation Apps
TextGrabber is a translator app that makes it easy to understand language texts in your destination. You can point your phone’s camera at the foreign text in front of you, and the app will automatically translate the text into the language of your choice.
iTranslate Voice 3 is an exciting app that enables “magical” voice-to-voice communication across languages. In addition, the app will automatically translate into your language by only speaking in your mother tongue on the phone.
Take Away Message
I hope my welcome message was able to help you understand the main reason I created the blog and its vision, mission, and target audience. In addition, I was able to highlight what you will see in each menu based on the writing category to make your search more productive.
I always had Travel goals during my childhood; I reached those goals as I grew up and gained experience and academic studies. I hope my own experience motivates you to travel.
Before you travel, it is essential to check with the local official Public Health website of your country or walk into their offices to receive guidance about health policies and requirements for the destination. If you book your trip on your own, through a Travel agent or wholesaler, make sure you know some reliable emergency numbers at the destination, hospitals, and hotels. Travel insurance is also essential, and it is highly recommended to have travel insurance before you travel to be safely covered at your destination. Similarly, it is helpful to visit the website of the carrier you are going to travel with to avoid losing your essential belongings because each has different baggage policies.
