  • Culture Trip is a travel App that empowers people to explore the world anytime, day or night using the website, application, social media, and other platforms. I have been using this app for two weeks and find it both intuitive and easy to navigate. However, there are some aspects that should be reviewed and corrected when it comes to the design and features, but overall, the app is relevant, and I would recommend it for anyone. It should have the capability to display information in multiple languages this would make it more accessible for an international audience. Culture Trip connects people from different backgrounds through its international community of content creators; allowing users to network with hundreds of artists, photographers, videographers, editors, and animators. The application provides helpful ideas about where to go, what to see, where to stay where to eat. It also provides way to store this information so that the user can come back to it, at a later time. Based on your profile, Culture Trip provides you with some specific suggestions as you scroll through the menu. The features are easy to navigate, and the search bar gives you an option to remember your favorite places. Once you identify your interests the application allows you to create a Wishlist (file) of all your preferred destinations. Users can explore more than 300 locations around the globe through the lens of passionate locals and in-house journalists. Culture Trip has a number of competitors in the field, whose applications are designed by experts, including journalists, designers, writers, videographers, and engineers.

The pros for the Culture Trip application are as follows:

  • it can be used without internet access.
  • This is ideal for flights, train journeys and those long spells between reliable Wi-Fi zones.
  • Culture Trip lets you use your phone to make free app-to-app calls, even if you do not have access to Wi-Fi or cellular data.
  • For calls to a foreign number that are not app-to-app (mum’s not keen on iPhones), Rebtel (a Swedish company) unlocks local phone lines, giving each user a local number, which can be used to make international calls. You will not need an internet; connection and you can save the local number to reach the same person again later.
  • The information is filed in an organized manner which makes it easy for any first-time users to find it without issue.
  • For example, if a tourist is planning to travel to an unknown destination – Culture Trip allows the tourist to book flights, hotels, a rental car, rail travel, cruises, and excursions etc. without having to book through to a travel agency.
  • Using Culture Trip, the client is able to book his or her personalized trip efficiently.

The cons for the Culture Trip application are as follows:

  • Culture Trip has limited features, many users have commented about this, saying the contents are not appealing.
  • After using this application for two weeks, I was surprised by the number of limitations.
  •  The limited capability prevents negatively impacts user insight when it comes to destinations.
  • Additionally, there are fairly frequent technical issues as the IT team are not able to evaluate the feature’s effectiveness in the chosen metrics, and forget to follow up, consequently issues become worse.
  • Culture Trip does not have an icon to display the translation of information in other languages. This makes it difficult to attract non-English speakers.

Culture Trip is often compared to hoppers, as these applications have similar content. For example, both provide users with options to book flights, hotels, and the features are similar. However, Culture Trip has a more intuitive layout and higher quality photographers. It would seem as though Culture Trip has a greater number of staff than hoppers, including audio and computer engineers, web and application developers, journalists, as well as writers.

The fast- growing audience is primarily comprised of travel conscious individuals between the ages of 30 and 45. Culture Trip motivates users to patiently explore different locations, trends and ideas, to learn more do more, see more, and experience more. The app intrigues this demographic as the information provided catches their interests.

A reliable translation feature could be added to help improve the application. This would allow users of various cultural backgrounds to easily navigate the platform. Develop more intuitive, adaptive better designs that will appeal to all users. When a user visits the application or the website for the first time it should have an undeniable visual appeal. Culture Trip could have more videos with audio in a number of languages, that would be a definite asset, if the application could suggest travel and accommodations based on personal preferences, it may help attract new clients.

I propose that Culture Trip hire professional translators and IT specialists so they can compete in the app market and appeal to clients from all over the world.

I would certainly recommend Culture Trip as it provides hyper-local information and recommendations regardless of where you are traveling. Users have the option to create a profile or bookmark and like stories, and the search function will filter results based on the locations and attractions you really want to see. However, I would also discuss the apps cons, to provide an honest review. As an up-and-coming travel influencer, it is crucial to maintain a good reputation.

The Culture Trip application has been described as “fantastic, intuitive, and compelling” (Culture Trip, n.d). This is a must-have app for those who like to travel off the beaten path. Some reviewers have had less than perfect experiences, although the developers seem to be quick when it comes to fixing bugs and releasing updates that enhance user experience.
